Communication

Get a Slack expert working inside your account

You already know Slack can do more than it currently does for your team. The problem is not knowing what to fix first, or finding the time to fix it. Trusty Oak fractional specialists work directly inside your Slack workspace to build the channel structures, automations, and integrations your team actually needs. This is hands-on, account-level work, not advice or documentation handed off to you to implement yourself.

What our team does with Slack

Concrete work our fractional specialists take on inside your Slack account. No vague promises.

Build and configure your Slack workspace from scratch

We set up your workspace with a channel naming convention that scales, configure user groups, and establish default notification settings that reduce noise without burying important messages. If you are starting fresh, we map your team structure and communication patterns before touching anything in the account. The deliverable is a workspace your team can actually navigate on day one.

Audit and reorganize an existing workspace

We review your current channel list, identify redundant, stale, or misnamed channels, and consolidate them according to a structure that matches how your team actually works. We archive channels that no longer serve a purpose and document the new taxonomy so new hires can self-orient. You get a written audit report and a before-and-after channel map.

Build Workflow Builder automations inside Slack

We create no-code automations using Slack's native Workflow Builder for recurring tasks like daily standups, form submissions, approval requests, and onboarding message sequences. Each workflow is documented with a trigger, step-by-step logic, and the intended outcome so you can modify or hand it off later. We test each workflow before it goes live in your workspace.

Configure and manage Slack app integrations

We install, configure, and maintain integrations between Slack and the other tools in your stack, including project management platforms, CRMs, ticketing systems, and calendar tools. This includes setting up the right bot permissions, choosing which channels receive which notifications, and filtering out alert noise so only actionable updates surface. We document every integration so nothing is a black box.

Set up Slack Connect for external collaboration

We configure Slack Connect channels for client, vendor, or partner communication, including setting channel-level permissions and establishing message guidelines for external participants. This removes the back-and-forth of email threads with outside parties while keeping those conversations searchable and organized within your workspace. We handle the invite flow and confirm access on both sides before handing the channel over to you.

Migrate a team from another messaging platform into Slack

If your team is moving from Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, or another tool, we plan the migration sequence, recreate the relevant channel structure in Slack, and coordinate the cutover timeline with your team lead. We do not promise to port message history in every case, but we will be transparent about what is and is not possible given your plan tier and source platform. The goal is a clean start in Slack with zero confusion about where things live.

How Trusty Oak supports Slack workflows

How the Slack handoff works

During onboarding, your dedicated Client Success Manager reviews your current Slack setup, if you have one, and documents what is working, what is creating friction, and what is missing entirely. That audit feeds into your Strategic Delegation Plan, which prioritizes the Slack work your specialist will tackle first. Your specialist works directly inside your workspace with access scoped to what the work requires, and documents every workflow, integration, and channel structure change as they go. Before any automation goes live, you review and approve it. Nothing is shipped into your workspace without your sign-off.

Common Slack workflows we build

A few of the most common workflows our team has deployed with Slack.

1

Form submission to Slack channel alert

When a prospect fills out a form in Typeform or Gravity Forms, a Workflow Builder or Zapier step posts a formatted summary to a designated Slack channel, tagging the responsible team member. This replaces manual email monitoring and ensures no lead sits unread for more than a few minutes during business hours.

2

Project status update to stakeholder channel

We connect Asana, Monday.com, or ClickUp to a Slack channel so that when a task moves to a specific status, a message posts automatically with the task name, owner, and due date. Stakeholders get visibility without being added to the project management tool or asked to check another dashboard.

3

Daily standup collection via Slack Workflow Builder

We build a scheduled workflow that prompts each team member with a short form inside Slack at a set time each morning, then posts all responses to a shared channel in a consistent format. This replaces live standup meetings for distributed teams and keeps responses searchable by date.

4

Support ticket created to ops team Slack alert

When a new ticket is opened in Zendesk, Freshdesk, or Intercom, a filtered notification posts to your ops or support Slack channel with the ticket priority, customer name, and a direct link. We configure filters so only tickets above a certain priority or from specific customer segments trigger the alert, reducing noise for the team.

5

New hire onboarding message sequence in Slack

We build a Workflow Builder sequence that triggers when a new member joins a designated channel, sending a series of timed direct messages with links to key resources, introductions to team channels, and prompts to complete onboarding tasks. Each message is spaced over the first week and can be edited without rebuilding the entire workflow.

Frequently asked questions

We ask that you invite the specialist as a member of your workspace using their work email. You control their permission level and can limit access to specific channels if needed. We do not require admin access unless the work specifically involves workspace settings, app installations, or user management.
Most clients start with a setup or audit project and then shift to ongoing maintenance, which includes monitoring integrations, updating workflows as tools or processes change, and adding new automations as the team grows. Your monthly hour budget rolls over, so if a given month is lighter on Slack work, those hours carry forward to the next. The initial commitment is three months, then month-to-month.
If your team is already on Slack and the core problem is disorganization, missing automations, or poor integrations, we can solve that without switching platforms. If you are evaluating Slack against Microsoft Teams or Google Chat and have not committed yet, we can give you an honest read on which fits your team size, existing tool stack, and use case during the discovery call. We do not have a financial reason to push you toward any particular platform.
Everything we build lives inside your Slack workspace and your connected tool accounts. You own it all. We document every workflow and integration so your internal team can maintain or modify them after the engagement ends. There is no proprietary layer that disappears when we stop working together.
Yes, if you grant admin access, our specialists can handle user provisioning, channel management, app approvals, and workspace settings. We do not manage billing or plan upgrades on your behalf, as those actions require access to your payment method, but we can advise on which plan tier supports the features you need and help you prepare for a plan change.
