Research & Data

Hire a G2 specialist to manage your profile, reviews, and buyer intent data

You already know what you need done inside G2. The problem is that monitoring review requests, responding to buyer intent signals, and keeping your profile competitive takes consistent attention your team doesn't have. Trusty Oak's fractional specialists work directly inside your G2 account, handling everything from profile optimization and review campaign management to buyer intent list exports and competitive category tracking. This is not advisory work. We do the actual work, inside your account, on your schedule.

What our team does with G2

Concrete work our fractional specialists take on inside your G2 account. No vague promises.

Build and optimize your G2 product profile

We audit your existing G2 profile against top-ranked competitors in your category and close the gaps: updating product descriptions, adding feature tags, uploading screenshots and videos, and ensuring all pricing and integration data is accurate. A complete, well-structured profile directly affects your G2 category ranking and the quality of leads who find you through G2's buyer search.

Run outbound review request campaigns

We build and execute review request sequences targeting your current customer base, using G2's built-in review collection tools alongside email outreach coordinated through your CRM. We track response rates, follow up with non-responders, and report on new review volume by segment so you can see exactly where reviews are coming from and where they are not.

Monitor and respond to published reviews

We check your G2 profile on a defined cadence, flag new reviews for your awareness, and draft vendor responses for your approval before publishing. For negative reviews, we document the feedback and route it to the appropriate internal contact, whether that is customer success, product, or support, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Export and activate G2 Buyer Intent data

We pull Buyer Intent data from your G2 account on a recurring schedule, segment accounts by intent signal type (category, competitor, or product page views), and export structured lists into your CRM or sales engagement platform. This turns raw intent signals into prioritized prospect lists your sales team can act on without manually digging through the G2 dashboard.

Track competitors across G2 categories

We set up and maintain a competitor tracking framework using G2 category grids and comparison pages, logging shifts in competitor ratings, review velocity, and feature positioning on a monthly basis. Findings are delivered in a structured report so your product and marketing teams have a current, factual picture of where you stand relative to alternatives buyers are evaluating.

Audit existing G2 setup and fix configuration gaps

If your G2 account has been underused or set up inconsistently, we conduct a full audit covering profile completeness, category placement accuracy, review tag coverage, and Buyer Intent configuration. We document what is missing or misconfigured, prioritize fixes by impact, and work through the remediation list with clear before-and-after records for your team.

How Trusty Oak supports G2 workflows

How the G2 handoff works

During onboarding, your dedicated Client Success Manager reviews your current G2 account setup, identifies gaps in profile completeness, review volume, and Buyer Intent configuration, and builds a prioritized roadmap with you before any work begins. Your specialist then works directly inside your G2 account using access you grant, documenting every action taken so you always have a clear record of what was done and why. For recurring workflows like review monitoring and intent exports, we establish a defined cadence and check-in format so you are never wondering what is happening. You approve the approach for each new workflow before we execute, and nothing gets published or exported without your sign-off where that matters, such as vendor responses or CRM pushes.

Common G2 workflows we build

A few of the most common workflows our team has deployed with G2.

1

New G2 review published, response drafted, routed for approval

When a new review goes live on your G2 profile, we draft a vendor response within 48 hours and send it to your designated approver via email or Slack before publishing. This keeps your response rate high and your tone consistent without requiring your team to monitor G2 daily.

2

Weekly Buyer Intent export, segmented list pushed to HubSpot or Salesforce

Each week we pull your G2 Buyer Intent report, filter accounts by signal strength and intent category, and upload a prioritized list into your CRM with relevant intent notes attached to each account record. Sales reps receive a clean, actionable list rather than raw platform data.

3

Customer list from CRM, review request sequence launched in G2

We take a filtered export of recently closed or long-tenure customers from your CRM, load them into G2's review collection workflow, and manage the outreach sequence through to completion. You get a report of who was contacted, who responded, and what reviews were generated.

4

Monthly competitor grid snapshot, delivered as structured report

At the end of each month we capture G2 category grid positions, star ratings, and review counts for your top five competitors and compile the data into a consistent comparison table. Your team gets a running record of competitive movement without anyone spending time manually pulling screenshots.

5

G2 intent signal matched to open opportunity, sales team alerted in Slack

When a Buyer Intent signal appears for an account that already exists as an open opportunity in your CRM, we flag the match and post a notification to the assigned rep's Slack channel with the intent signal type and a link to the account record. This closes the loop between G2 data and active pipeline without requiring sales ops to build a custom integration.

Frequently asked questions

No. We work with whatever permission level you are comfortable granting, and we recommend using G2's user role settings to give us the access needed for specific tasks without full admin rights where that is not necessary. Your account remains under your ownership and control throughout the engagement, and we document all credentials and access in a format you can revoke at any time.
Both are possible. Some clients bring us in for a defined setup project, such as a full profile audit and review campaign launch, and then hand it back to their team. Others use a recurring monthly hour allocation to cover review monitoring, Buyer Intent exports, and competitor tracking on an ongoing basis. Your monthly Talent Budget hours roll over if unused, so you are not penalized for lighter months.
That depends on your category and buyer audience. G2 tends to have stronger coverage for B2B software categories and is widely used by buyers in mid-market and enterprise purchasing decisions, but if your buyers are more concentrated in a specific vertical or company size, TrustRadius or Capterra may index better for your audience. If you are not sure, we can do a quick competitive presence audit across platforms during onboarding and give you a factual picture of where your competitors are investing before you commit to G2 as your primary focus.
Profile updates and category placement corrections are visible within a few days of publishing. Review volume growth depends on your customer base size and how responsive your customers are to outreach, but most clients see meaningful new review activity within the first 30 to 60 days of a structured campaign. Buyer Intent data is available as soon as your G2 subscription includes that feature and we have configured the export workflow, which typically takes one to two business days.
That is common. We frequently work alongside an internal marketing or ops contact who owns the G2 relationship but does not have bandwidth for the execution work. In that case, we scope the engagement around the specific tasks they want to hand off, whether that is review response drafting, weekly intent exports, or competitor tracking, and we document our work so their internal owner stays fully informed. We are not trying to replace your internal contact, just handle the work that is not getting done.
